Micro-Business Protocol

Build Your Business

* the following is for informational purposes and is not to be considered financial advice.

The AI-Powered Micro-Business Protocol

A Repeatable Formula to Launch a Business Based on Your Talents & Interests

Step 1: Discover Your Business Idea

Use AI to brainstorm business ideas based on your talents, interests, and ways to serve others. It doesn’t have to be an online T shirt store that omits just an example from something I do but can be whatever you are good at that people pay for that can be repeated like being a handyman or any skill or talent this step will help you figure that out.

Tools to Use:

  • ChatGPT – Ask: “Based on my skills in [X], what are 10 online business ideas I could start that generate revenue?”
  • Perplexity – Research market demand and competition.
  • MindMeister – Map out brainstormed ideas visually.

👉 Goal: Identify one simple idea that excites you and solves a problem for others.

Step 2: Validate the Idea

Check if people will pay for it.

Methods:

  • Use Google Trends to check demand.
  • Search Etsy, Amazon, or Redbubble to see if people are buying similar products.
  • Run a quick poll on social media asking friends/followers if they’d buy.

👉 Goal: Confirm there’s a real audience willing to pay.

Step 3: Write Your Business Plan with AI

AI can draft your business plan in minutes.

Tools to Use:

  • ChatGPT or Claude – Prompt: “Write me a simple one-page business plan for a [type of business] including target audience, pricing, and marketing strategy.”
  • Notion – Organize notes, plans, and goals.

👉 Goal: Have a written plan, even if it’s just one page.

Step 4: Choose a Business Structure

The structure affects your taxes and legal protections.

Option Highlight – S Corporation (Nevada):

  • Nevada has no state income tax and doesn’t report business info to the federal government.
  • You can file through a registered agent for a small fee (usually included in incorporation packages).
  • An S-Corp gives you pass-through taxation: you pay yourself a salary, and that’s what gets taxed.

Steps:

  1. Pay ~$200–$300 to incorporate through a Nevada registered agent (e.g., IncFile, ZenBusiness).
  2. Apply for a free EIN from the IRS here. You’ll get your number instantly in a digital letter.
  3. Print copies and save backups – you’ll need this to open a bank account.

👉 Goal: Have a legal entity and EIN.

Step 5: Set Up Your Finances

Keep business and personal money separate.

Actions:

  • Open a business checking account using your Articles of Incorporation + EIN.
  • Use accounting software like:

    • QuickBooks Online (~$20/month)
    • Wave Accounting (free option)
  • Track every expense, even trial subscriptions.

Investment & Savings Apps:

  • Acorns – Invest spare change automatically.
  • Public.com – Fractional stock investing.
  • NerdWallet – Compare financial tools.

👉 Goal: Keep clean financial records from Day 1.

Step 6: Build Your Brand

This is where your business identity comes alive.

Tools & Actions:

  • Logo & Visuals:

    • Looka or Canva – AI-generated logos and brand kits.
    • AI text-to-image tools (like DALL·E or MidJourney) – Generate product designs, artwork, or ad graphics.
  • Company Website:

    • GoDaddy – Simple drag-and-drop website builder with hosting and domains in one place.
    • Squarespace – Beautiful, customizable templates for personal brands or creative businesses.
    • Both allow you to connect your own domain name, showcase your story, and integrate e-commerce features.
  • Products & Storefront (for physical goods):

    • Printful – Create custom t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, and more with print-on-demand.
    • Shopify – Build a full-featured online store that integrates seamlessly with Printful.
  • Marketing Collateral:

    • Vistaprint – Business cards, QR code flyers, branded swag.
    • Digital business cards (like HiHello) – Share instantly via phone tap.

👉 Goal: Have a recognizable brand identity, your first product designs, and a professional company website where people can find you.

Step 7: Launch Your Online Store

For physical products (t-shirts, mugs, etc.):

  • Shopify + Printful = seamless integration for selling and fulfilling orders.
  • Squarespace + Printful = a sleek alternative with built-in website + store.
  • Etsy – An additional channel with built-in traffic.

For digital products (ebooks, templates, courses):

  • Gumroad
  • Teachable

👉 Goal: Have a place online where people can pay you.

Step 8: Market Smart & Lean

Start small and scale up.

Free & Low-Cost Options:

  • TikTok/Instagram Reels – Share your story and products.
  • Canva + ChatGPT – Generate daily content ideas.
  • Email list with MailerLite or ConvertKit.

Optional Paid Upgrade:

  • Marketing360 (starting ~$400/month) for managed campaigns.

👉 Goal: Start selling without overspending.

Step 9: Stay Organized & Keep Learning

  • Track everything in Excel, Google Sheets, or QuickBooks.
  • Revisit AI tools monthly to brainstorm growth ideas.
  • Keep reading and leveling up your skills.

Recommended Books:

  • The Lean Startup by Eric Ries
  • Company of One by Paul Jarvis
  • $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau

Final Notes

This is a repeatable protocol:

  1. Use AI to brainstorm + plan.
  2. Validate demand.
  3. Incorporate smartly (Nevada S-Corp is one good option).
  4. Set up finances.
  5. Build your brand (with a professional website using GoDaddy or Squarespace, and products powered by Shopify + Printful).
  6. Launch your store.
  7. Market lean.
  8. Track + learn continuously.

Follow this process, and you’ll have a micro-business built around your talents, serving others, and generating sustainable revenue.
